Student Expectations While on the School Bus

• Personal Conduct:
  • Stay seated in your seat and face forward.
  • Talk quietly and use appropriate language.
  • Please refrain from bullying, teasing, using threatening words or harassing of other students. It is hurtful.
  • No profanity or swearing
  • No excessive noise, like screaming, or yelling
  • Don't be rude or disrespectful
  • Keep your hands to yourself
  • No physical abuse, like fighting, pushing, spitting, or shoving of other students. Someone could get hurt.
  • No inappropriate gestures
  • Do not throw any objects, whether out the window or within the bus.
  • Always be courteous and respectful to others.
  • Keep all body parts inside the bus at all times.
  • Always walk, never run.
  • Keep the aisle clear.
  • To avoid choking, do not eat or drink on the bus.
• Do not bring any weapons or other dangerous objects on the bus. Musical instruments are O.K. but skateboards are not.
• Do not damage the bus. Writing on the seats is considered vandalism
• Get to the bus stop five minutes before your scheduled pick-up time. The school bus driver usually cannot wait for late students.
• Stay away from the street, road, or highway while waiting for the bus. Stay behind the curb and wait until the bus stops completely and opens the door before approaching the bus.
• If you must cross the street, always cross 10 feet in front of the bus where the driver can see you. Wait for the driver to signal before you cross the street.
• If any object falls under the bus, tell the driver before retrieving it.
• Know your name, address and phone number in case of an emergency. For younger students, this information along with bus route and bus stop location should also be kept in their backpack.
• Listen and obey your bus driver.
